Air Paradise ceased operations

When I left Bali International Airport last time at the end of October I was seriously shocked - I have not seen in recent times such a modern and nice airport - so emphty. Actually not really emphty, as there were hundreds of shopsellers - but emphty of passengers.

So today's press release from the AUSTRALIAN CONSULATE-GENERAL
BALI came as little surprise - knowing the stretched finances of major Bali businesses after years of 'bad luck'.
The only Bali-based airline Air Paradise ceased operations on 23 November 2005. There are no further Air Paradise flights, including services to and from Bali and Australia. Air Paradise offices in Australia and Bali have closed and will not reopen.

Flights : Qantas has agreed to carry Air Paradise ticket holders currently in Indonesia back to Australia, subject to available seats, up until 10 December. Qantas expects to have capacity to uplift all passengers with return flights booked to Australia however will provide extra flights if required.

Air Paradise ticket holders in Bali are advised to contact Qantas Airlines in Bali at the Grand Bali Beach Hotel in Sanur on 288331.
