Special agents with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service arrested a 52-year-old man doing business in Bali, yesterday at his storage locker in Poulsbo for allegedly trafficking in elephant, walrus and woolly mammoth ivory as well as the teeth of endangered bears.
The arrest yesterday morning of William Sidmore culminated a 14-month undercover investigation by Fish and Wildlife Service agents who posed as buyers of the ivory and teeth, much of which was fashioned into carvings and other art pieces, according to an affidavit by Special Agent Jill Birchell.
